Good morning all, the coffee has been on since 0420 and it's already "Hump Day". I see that the NY Rangers dropped another one last night, lets go fellas and turn things around. They play tomorrow evening again, hopefully they can figure out a way to win one for a change. Anyway, enjoy everyone and remember to be safe out there.......?

(2 years ago)Good morning all, the coffee is on and it's Thursday which normally means that we head to the Aroma Cigar Room after work. We'll see if that happens depending on the work schedule here at West Point and all. They finally opened Route 9W which is the main road connecting West Point north to Cornwall and parts north. South of West Point is another question. They did set up the ferry service starting this morning from the Garrison side to West Point which will help a number of employees that live on the east side of the Hudson River. Fingers crossed that things get better every day. Enjoy everyone....... ??

I attached the Facebook link from "Living in Cornwall, NY" to show what roads are currently opened and closed. Our normal drive to work was roughly 15 minutes from Cornwall now takes roughly an hour+ depending on the traffic and all:

(2 years ago)Good morning all, the coffee is on and it's day two of recovery for the Hudson Valley. Beth and I received minimal damage compared to the West Point / Highland Falls community. Route 9W which is the direct route to West Point is only oneway as a portion of the road is gone. Everyone that travels south on 9W has to find other means to head towards West Point and points south. It's going to take a while to rebuild but I'm sure the Highway department will make it one of the priorities. Have a great day everyone....... ?

(2 years ago)Good morning everyone, the coffee is on and it's Monday. I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers in the passing of our brother-in-law Gary, it means a lot for the family. Yesterday, the Hudson Valley received a lot of rain in a short period of time resulting major damage all over with the County Supervisor declaring a State of Emergency. West Point has major damage throughout and the Town of Highland is under water. West Point is currently in a Code Red and damage is currently being assessed. There are roads gone that use to be there and areas impassable. I'll update as we know more from our 0900 (9 AM) MS Teams meeting. Talk with you all soon.

The Yankees got spanked last night, let's go fellas and turn things around tonight. The NASCAR drivers are in Atlanta, GA this weekend which will definitely be a hot one. It's going to be a solemn weekend for us, Beth's brother-in-law Gary Ricci passed away last Sunday after a long battle with cancer and the services are tomorrow with the viewing this afternoon. I'm heading over to the New Windsor American Legion Post 1796 in a bit to help out as we're having a cleaning day in the kitchen and storage areas. We had a good time at Aroma last night, the place was packed and everyone was smoking top shelf cigars and all. The Yankees won another game yesterday, now they are off to St. Louis, MO. Today is Reception Day (R-Day) at West Point as 1200+ new Cadets arrive and start their 4 year experience and hopefully graduate as Second Lieutenants in the U.S. Army. The Yankees did good this weekend taking 2 out of 3 games from the Texas Rangers. Congrats to Ross Chastain for grabbing the checkered flag in yesterday NASCAR race. Beth and I had a relaxing weekend over all: Saturday, I spent the day with the fellas at Aroma and then afterwards, I went to "The Best of Little Italy" in Monroe, NY and bought all sorts of Italian food; yesterday, we did some shopping in Middletown, NY and then came home and relaxed out back with a few cold ones and a couple of top shelf cigars. The Yankees only won one out of three games this weekend and congrats to Martin Truex Jr. for taking the checkered flag in yesterday's NASCAR race.
