The Top 22 Cigar Humidors For 2022 & Why You Need One (Or Two)

Since you’re here already, we can both agree you enjoy a good cigar from time to time, if not everyday. But today, in this blog, we’re not going to talk about cigars. We’re going to talk about one of the next best things to cigars, cigar humidors.

Now, we all know those prized cigars of yours can degrade quite quickly if they’re not carefully stored in a humidor. If you have a humidor already, keep in mind, the 70/70 rule should always always be applied. Keep your humidor at 70 degrees and 70% relative humidity to ensure your cigars age to the best of their abilities.

As you may be aware, trying to achieve either of these goals without the right humidor equipment is challenging, but trying to keep both temperature and humidity in check without a cigar humidor is almost impossible. If you’re looking for some of the best cigar humidor accessories, you can explore them in our blog here

Otherwise, kick back and enjoy the best cigar humidors for 2022.

Some things to keep in mind before buying a new cigar humidor.

Whether you’re about to buy your first humidor, you’re in the market for a new humidor to replace your current one, or you’re looking to add another humidor to your arsenal of cigar tools, we’ve broken down some key points to picking the perfect humidor.

The Size: How big is your collection? 10 cigars? 200 cigars? It’s important to know ‘cause too many cigars in too small of a humidor may damage them or make it difficult to acquire the right humidity levels.

The Seal: A proper humidor seal will ensure moisture doesn’t escape. There’s nothing worse than a dry humidor. If you don’t want to have to consistently be checking humidity levels, then make sure your humidors seal is strong.

The Maintenance: Do you want to have to maintain your cigars? Or do you want a humidor that’s more set-it-and-forget it? With a lower priced humidor, you’ll probably have to calibrate the hygrometer and humidifier more often.

The Presentation: Humidors can be elegant, they can be plain or straight up out of this world. It really depends on your style. But, no matter the aesthetic, a high-rated humidor will maintain your collection regardless.

The Material: Humidors have a range of different styles and materials. Most tabletop boxes will come in Spanish Cedar, while coolers come in stainless steel. Acrylic humidors are also rising in popularity.

After going from Tupper-dors to Colman-dors, I eventually expanded to a dead Sears Kenmore 11.8 cubic foot upright freezer that I nabbed for next to nothing at a Salvation Army outlet store.

Added shelves between the existing shelves. In addition to the cigar boxes, I added sheets of Spanish Cedar to help even out the humidity. (The cedar sheets are probably not that necessary since there are so many cedar boxes.)

Narrow trays holding florist foam with Propylene glycol and distilled water are at the back of every other shelf.

Doesn't have a window, though. Oh, well - I open it often enough that I get to see what's inside.
