Last year (2022), La Gloria Cubana returned to its Miami roots by collaborating with El Titan de Bronze to release a limited-edition cigar called 8th Street. For 2023, the brand is creating another limited-edition 8th Street cigar in a new vitola and packaging. Like the 2022 version, 2023 8th Street was crafted by the artisans at El Titan de Bronze in Miami.

La Gloria Cubana 2023 8th Street Blend Information

2023 Eighth Street features an Ecuadorian Habano Maduro wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder, and Dominican and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos. It is a full-bodied cigar with a rich and naturally sweet flavor profile. Tasting notes include espresso, leather, and spice.

The original El Credito factory was located in Little Havana, Miami, and saw the rise of La Gloria Cubana amid the cigar boom of the 1990s. While the new El Credito is located in the Dominican Republic, 2023 8th Street is an American production. All La Gloria Cubana 8th Street cigars have been produced by the prestigious rolling gallery of El Titan de Bronze.

Justin Andrews, Director of New Business Development for Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG) said, “It was a true pleasure to work with Sandy Cobas (owner of El Titan de Bronze) and her team to blend a new expression of La Gloria Cubana 8th Street. This cigar is proudly made in the USA and honors the Little Havana roots of this legendary brand. For this special project, we stayed true to a classic La Gloria profile and replicated a Cubanesque smoking experience by way of the cigar’s size. This is a rich and complex smoke that celebrates the resilience of the cigar-making tradition, and I’m proud to have been a part of blending it.”

El Titan de Bronze has also recently collaborated on a USA-made Partagas cigar –– Partagas De Bronce. In the past, El Titan de Bronze has worked with brands like La Palina, Warped, Padilla, Cohiba, and Drew Estate.

El Titan de Bronze takes its name from the Cuban revolutionary Antonio Maceo Grajales, who earned the nickname “The Bronze Titan” during the Cuban War of Independence against the Spanish for his devotion to the cause and his resistance to bullet wounds incurred during battle.

La Gloria Cubana Product Information & Availability

2022 La Gloria Cubana 8th Street came in a single vitola –– a classic Toro. For the 2023 release, La Gloria Cubana has changed the size of this limited-edition offering to a traditional Corona Grande (6.5 X 48) frontmark. The cigars are sold in boxes of 10 and will retail at around $23 per smoke. Both the band and the box feature a unique pattern reminiscent of the art style of Little Havana.
