Southern Draw Kudzu Lunstrum

Fired up another Southern Draw Kudzu. This one is the Kudzu Lustrum. Sounds like the name of the demon Eddie Murphy encountered in The Golden Child. Southern Draw Kudzu Lunstrum features Nicaraguan filler, an Ometepe binder and an toothy Ecuador Habano Oscuro wrapper.

Wood absolutely drives the flavor of this cigar. It’s mostly cedar, but there’s an oaky taste in there as well. Some chocolate, birmt caramel and spice are also in the background. But through the entire smoke it’s the wood that dominates.

It’s a medium-full bodied and medium strength box pressed toro with a Habano Oscuro (I think) wrapper. It has an easy cold draw and a decent amount of smoke. There was some uneven burn issues early, which may have been my fault in torching the foot. The burn line evened out by the second third.

I’ve never smoked a cigar with such a woodsy flavor to it. Even the retrohale exudes a wood profile – like the aroma of embers dying from a campfire. This cedar-oak combination is the hallmark of this stick – a very unique and very interesting experience.
