Relighting a Cigar

Gentlemen, I am excited to be a part of this forum. My apologies if I break any rules, please keep me in check if I do.

I have been smoking for 16 years and I often let my cigar go out because I am a long winded talker... whether people want to hear me or not. Well up until this morning I thought I had been relighting my cigars the right way until I came across this video. I tried this technique out (blowing out while relighting) and it made a massive difference. Honestly, I would love to hear everyone else's feedback to see if 1. You were already doing this or 2. If this doesn't work for you.

I hope others get what I got out of this, truly.

That is the preferred way to relight. I guess it burns off there stale smoke trapped in the cigar, good find.

Welcome!! And nice add! I do the following when I need to relight:

    1) Ash

    2) Either cut off or scrape out as much of the burnt tobacco as possible. Note that cutting off the end with my cutter also tends to crack the wrapper a little, too, but that’s ok.

    3) Blow out while lighting, to blow out old smoke and blow out the initial relighting of any remaining burnt tobacco.

Great video! I'll have to try that technique. I definitely ash it before relighting but don't blow out. Thanks sharing.
