Quad State Herf & Cigar B Que 17 - August 13, 2022
Hear ye, hear ye, this year's Quad State Herf & Cigar B Que 17 fund raiser is a go. With the all the calls and messages, the event is already [B]SOLD OUT[/B]. Check the guest list below and ensure you and your guests can attend so the numbers are correct. I am starting a "Stand-by List" for those that didn't contact me already and we'll do our best to accommodate everyone.
The date will be Saturday, August 13th, from 1000 (10am) until dusk (roughly 1800 / 6pm) and the location again is West Point's Recreational Area - Lake Frederick. As always, it will be a day of relaxation, enjoying great BBQ (prepared by Sean Keever and his crew - Big Guns BBQ) and a number of outdoor events, i.e., volleyball, horse shoes, swimming, kayaking and much more.
The cost to attend this year's event is [B]$100.00[/B] per person (first time in years we raised the price as a result of everything going up). The benefit of the event this year will be "Play For Your Freedom", http://www.playforyourfreedom.org/ as well as the "Hudson Valley Honor Flight", https://hvhonorflight.com.
As always, the first 250 guest will receive a very nice "goodie bag" and there will be plenty of stuff being raffled off at the event along with various silent auction items.

(21 months ago)Beth and I finished counting all the monies and checks, and so far we have raised 41K + and we still have donations coming in the mail. Outstanding! Not a bad day of smoking cigars, drinking beer and eating great BBQ. Thank you all for everything and all your support. Love you guys. (21 months ago)Well, today is Herf day! The weather is looking great according to NOAA: Sunny, with a high near 78 °F . North wind 3 to 7 mph.
With help from all our friends that were out at Lake Frederick yesterday, everything is set up in preparation to make today a very success day.
We have plenty of beer, wine, water and soft drinks for all. If there's something special you enjoy to drink, do not hesitate bringing it along.

(21 months ago)It's the Quad State Herf & Cigar B Que 17 eve. A number of Herf guests have arrived already from out of town (friends and family from Missouri, Louisiana, Ohio and Virginia). Today, is final prep day with making of the "Goodie Bags", picking up the kegs from both Newburgh Brewing and Mill House Brewing, and the the setting up of all the tents, tables and chairs for tomorrow's guests. (21 months ago)We are less than a week away from this year's fundraiser, woo hoo.
I want to remind everyone that there are "No Walk-ups" as this event has been sold out for a while. Unless you have paid or made arrangements with me for payment, you will not be admitted to this event.
I know the majority of this year's guests have attended previous Herfs, remember to park off the road and not block the right-of-way.

(21 months ago)We are less than two weeks away from the event! We have some awesome prizes for raffles as well as silent auction items, so bring plenty of cash!
Hoping this year is the best one ever. With that being said, Beth and I have decided, that this will be our last year hosting this event. It has been an incredible ride! We have enjoyed doing this event for 17 years, but it’s time for us to retire. There are so many to thank but for now, I will just say Thank you one and all!
Nothing would make us happier then to make this year a success by topping last year's total! We need to raise at least 45k!!!

(21 months ago)Just wanted to update everyone being that we are now less than three weeks from the event. Deliveries are coming in everyday now and our spare bed rooms are looking like warehouses. Payments are coming in as well, remember that we raised to cost to $100 this year and guests are $50. Enjoy your week everyone....... 👍

(23 months ago)Wanted to let you all know that we are collecting now, so you can either send me a check or money order made out to: Charles Baranyai. Remember, this year we raised the entrance fee to $100 and the non-smokers (guests) are $50. If you need the mailing address, let me know and I'll furnish it. We'd like to have everyone paid up by the middle of July which makes things the day of the Fundraiser go a lot easier.
Lastly, if you know of anyone / organization that wants to help out in being a sponsor. Let us know and we'll contact them to be added to the Sponsor List and get their names on the tee shirt. As we always say, every little bit helps....... 🤓
