New project

Got my new project rolled into the garage today. A 1997 Chevrolet Camero Z28 30th Anniversary Limited Edition. Body and engine wise she's pretty good. Have an injector bad and the clear coat is starting to peel. She's been sitting so long (15 years) I'm debating if I should drop the block and do a full teardown rebuild just for good measure. Interior is another story. All the upholstery will need redone and the dash has cracked so I'll likely replace that too. Maybe I'll have it ready by next summer. Either way it was a heck of a find and I look forward to bringing her back from her abandonment.

Sweet!!! Will you keep the same colors, or go for something new?

Keeping the colors the same. The arctic white with hubber orange stripes was the color scheme for the limited edition series of the 30th anniversary Camero, so I don't want to change that. Mine has the four-speed automatic in it, and is a hard top - according to production numbers there were only 1,802 of the limited edition Z28's made in this configuration. Mine has the white leather with houndstooth seats, which was the standard option, but I am considering switching them out to the all white leather seats, which was an upgrade option. In any event, the restoration might be a slow process, the new seat covers alone price out at $1K for a set, and I still have the floor mats, rear cargo mat and dashboard to find on the interior, plus the engine work and paint work to be done. Probably going to piece it together a bit at a time over the next year or so, unless a big project comes in that can help stimulate the process 😀
