Luciano The Dreamer Hermoso No. 4

Smoked: Luciano The Dreamer Hermoso No. 4

Luciano The Dreamer Hermoso No. 4 is a medium strength cigar with an Ecuadoran Habano wrapper. The back of the cigar band reads “Fiat Lux” – Latin for “Let There Be Light.” So, let’s Fiat Lux it.

Nuts, tea, herbs, earth, with notes of cocoa, coffee and caramel. Pepper is lingering within the flavors on the palate. Then pepper and herb assault you on the retrohale. As the cigar progresses, there are floral notes and vegetal hints in the second third. There is an array of flavors, but the balance is not quite there. It could also use a little more complexity. It’s enjoyable, but never quite hits the target to rate it a 4.

Construction: Fair cool draw until the final third with thick smoke output. But, flaky ash and an erratic uneven burn line. Touchups straigthen it out for awhile, then it would Fleetwood Mac on me – Go Its Own Way. That got me thinking about Physics class and Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle. Now we know that we shall never know whether it’s a particle or a wave – or how a cigar will perform during a smoke. Focus! I’m getting too fast for the room, as I have often been told at various points in my life. But I digress…

Luciano The Dreamer Hermoso is a decent average cigar. The construction issues didn’t help so it gets a 3 on the cigar Richter scale. Imagine the scale had I been smoking this last week in New Jersey.

Now to find a good eclipse cigar for Monday's Main Event.

I absolutely love it -- your wordsmith ability, that is. I've yet to try the stogie...
