Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial

Smoked: Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial

Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial is a medium-full bodied Nicaraguan covered in a smooth Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper with a few small veins.

Oak and cedar, pepper, cocoa, almonds, dark roast coffee, earth, vegetal notes and leather with dried fruit, toffee and mild spice joining the ensemble during the second third.

The draw is open offering just enough resistance, a bit lacking in smoke volume, but a sharp even burn line – only a couple of cosmetic touchups applied.

Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial is a good cigar. There’s balance, some complexity and a decent flavor profile. This was an enjoyable smoke.

If you're into Islay peat, smoke, maritime, you'll love it. You don't get the heavy peat on the nose, but your palate will be sucker punched by the peat. Be prepared. From the peat perspective, it could make Laphroaig jealous.

Kinda new to scotch but I am familiar with what you are saying being I work in a cigar shop and there is a premium liquor outlet next door. Getting into single malts but I absolutely love blends

I am into single malt, but I do have one blend in my bar - Monkey Shoulder. Not bad for a blend. I have never tried Johnny Walker Blue. I understand it is an exquisite blend. But I would rather have a bottle of each of the distillery offerings used in their blend. If only I could find a Port Ellen.

Blends: Try Monkey Shoulder or Big Peat.
