Bob brought along a sealed bag of Eiroa unbanded sticks sold at a cigar event in Kentucky 7 or 8 years ago. There is no identification of the blend, although it looks like a Corojo wrapper. Everyone at last week’s Cigar Conclave raved about the taste of this unidentified Eiroa.
Oak & cedar, earth, subtle spice, mixed nuts – cashews & hazelnuts prominent, and background hints of milk chocolate and light roast coffee. Traces of citrus pop up on a couple of puffs. It’s balanced and complex. Just a flat-out exceptional experience.
The construction was flawless. Open draw, dead even burn line, ash that held to over an inch, and solid smoke production.
We are composing a letter to send to Eiroa hoping to encourage the brand to produce more of these cigars, or, if they are now on the market, tell us the series name – so we can buy more. I’ll keep you posted if we hear back. All I can tell you is this Eiroa special edition is an excellent smoke. Hope we can find more.
