Smoked: Caldwell Lost & Found Forever Fresh

So much about the Caldwell Lost & Found series is that every cigar is unique yet distinctively Caldwell. Today I’m lighting up the L&F Forever Fresh Rothschild – although I would call it a petite corona. This is not a typical Lost & Found. The blend was supposedly commissioned by Robert Caldwell and Tony Bellato so it’s not actually a lost bale aging in obscurity that Caldwell “discovered” or so the story goes. The wrapper is a Pennsylvania Broadleaf which makes it even more atypical.

The first puffs reveal a flavor like menthol or mint along with some cream, mild spiciness, milk chocolate/cocoa and earthiness. Nuttiness and a bit of mineral notes join the profile on the second third. The retrohale includes some leather and mild pepper. The minty flavor fades a bit by the last third but it’s still there with more minerality and aged tobacco taste.

The ash is a tad flaky – dropped off twice – and the burn line was uneven throughout requiring a number of touch ups. But the wrapper never wavered and overall this cigar has decent construction.

I don’t care if it’s not a true Lost & Found. Caldwell made it. Bellato’s involvement is a nice bonus. It like this stick.
