We may be the slightest bit biased, but cigars are a super fun hobby! And there’s nothing a cigar lover appreciates more than a special cigar-related gift for the holidays. In this blog, we’ll focus on presents for newcomers to cigars. As you may know, breaking into the cigar category can be tricky, so the right gift can mean a lot to a budding cigar enthusiast.

Plus, there’s plenty that seasoned cigar smokers will enjoy here as well!

A New Humidor

One thing that separates casual cigar smokers from more serious connoisseurs is a quality humidor. While you can technically use Tupperware and other air-tight boxes to store cigars in an emergency, a humidor is a much better (and better-looking) option. So, if you want to help the new cigar lover in your life take the next step on their cigar journey, this is a fantastic place to start. You can usually pick up a nice desktop humidor for under $50.

Torch Lighter

Lighting a cigar with a match may be traditional, and lighting a cigar with a common soft-flame lighter can get the job done in a pinch. But, really, all cigar aficionados should have a dependable torch lighter for sparking up outdoors or (especially) in windy conditions. We recommend the Vertigo Cyclone Lighter for beginners. Why? Because it retails for around $9 and shoots out flame whenever you need it to. ‘Nuff said.

Cigar Ashtray

Ashing a cigar in a plastic cup is no way to live your best life. Not only are many cigar ashtrays beautifully designed, but they are also big enough to let you set your cigar down for a moment and return to it when you’re ready. We recently wrote an article outlining our favorite outdoor cigar ashtrays — so check it out for further inspiration!

Spirits

Nothing enhances a cigar-smoking experience like the addition of a quality drink pairing. No matter what drink you prefer, you’ll find different cigars that can pair beautifully with whiskey, rum, tequila, and a wide variety of cocktails.

Cigars!

Well, this one’s pretty obvious, but you really can’t go wrong with a few cigars from your local tobacconist. Even if you don’t know anything about cigars, most brick-and-mortar retailers will be only too happy to help you find the right smoke for the cigar lover in your life. Best of all — you can use our store locator to find cigar shops in your area!

Cigar Artisan Crafts!

Everyone loves a cool novelty piece to add to their man cave or family room. Why not pick your loved ones a cool cigar-specific artisan-crafted piece to add to their space? Previous Article: A Conversation with Kim Jackson: Cigar Band Artist

When you walk into Wilde Cigar Lounge in Dallas, Texas, you will see amazing pieces of art adorning the walls. When you get closer to the art, you will discover that they have been crafted out of cigar bands. No seriously. Portraits of Nolan Ryan (oh and this one is signed.) and John Wayne are just a couple examples of the work you can see in the lounge. What is even cooler, the artist actually works there. Her name is Kim Jackson and she has been creating these beautiful, unique pieces since April 2014. I was lucky enough to spend some time with Kim and discuss her artwork and history in the cigar world.
