For this WCW, we wanted to highlight a woman who you have all seen on your Instagram if you are a cigar enthusiast. Her name is Shanika Smith, but you probably know her as @lavellas_1 or simply as Diva. We ran into her at PCA, and she was kind enough to answer some questions for us. Read on!!
March is International Women’s Month, and as you all know, PCA is just around the corner. It will be held in The Big Easy this year, the weekend of April 11 th -14th, and we wanted to talk to the Women of PCA about how the organization has been going, what they have been working on, and what we can look forward to seeing from them moving forward. I was able to sit down with Monique Jones from the Women of PCA to get you all the answers. These are definitely some women to pay attention to because they have plans.
We were fortunate to spend a day with Sandy Cobas and her daughter, Giselle Herrera, at El Titan de Bronze on our most recent trip to Miami and learn all about Sandy, the factory, and the amazing, empowering story to how they got started.
For this week's Cigar World WCW we spent some time with Izola Woods, better known as Izzy. She is a brand ambassador for Drew Estate, a Broadleaf Broad, a Bourbon enthusiast, and an overall leader in the cigar space.
You may or may not have heard of the Sisters of the Leaf Global Movement (SOTLGM), and we have featured them on Cigar World before, but we wanted to bring some light to the amazing things this project is working on, and amplify the founder, Dr. Anastacia Psomiadi. In honor of International Women’s Month, we wanted to feature a woman artisan for our Artisan’s Corner series. When we came across CSA Creative, we just had to reach out. CSA Creative has been featured on HGTV, Better Homes and Gardens, BuzzFeed, NBC News, Uncommon Goods, and the list goes on and on. This is a one-woman operation. Cristie designs and creates all of her products, and they are unique and beautiful. You can find skeletal spine plant stakes, lunar moon calendars, skull head planters, insect-themed curiosity domes, and more.
For our first edition of Women Crush Wednesday, we had to feature Sandy Cobas from El Titan de Bronze Boutique Cigar Mfg. in Miami, FL.
