Cigar World's City Survival Guide Series

This year, here at Cigar World, we decided that we needed to provide you all with some knowledge that you can take with you when you are out traveling. Specific information applicable to cigars, of course! In 2024, we are starting our series Cigar World Survival Guide to bring you information about specific cities, such as cultural and historical information, places to go, people who live there that you may see, and all sorts of other interesting and entertaining content. In 2024 we will be featuring (Miami, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and New York) and will be releasing a series of blogs that will serve as a resource for you to have all your travel needs answered!

If you find yourself in one of these cities, you can reference our Survival Guide to find some of the best places to buy cigars, smoke cigars, and explore while you smoke your cigars! Depending on the city, you may even get some insider tips from experts in the field who live in the area.

Stop #1- Cigar World Welcomes You to Miami

Miami has a vast culture when it comes to cigars, and most of this is due to the heavy Cuban culture of the city. Miami has, by far and large, the most Cuban-Americans in the USA. Little Havana, an area west of Downtown Miami, is known for its authentic food scene, vibrant and thriving arts scene, Cuban family-run businesses, and a historical look into the Cuban culture. Because of this cultural presence, we decided to take a trip down to the 305 so that we could provide you with some unique guidance on where you can venture to when you are in the Miami area.

Not only is Miami one of the most desirable vacation destinations on the planet, but it is also a hotbed of cigar culture and history. In the first entry to our Cigar World City series, we’ll take you through everything you need to know about visiting Miami. Throughout the next month, we will release educational and exclusive content to allow our readers to maximize their next trip to Miami. Consider this series the ultimate cigar lover’s guide to the Magic City.

Common FAQs

Can I smoke a cigar on the beach?

Look, we get it. If you go to Miami, you probably want to light up a fine cigar and enjoy it on the beach. Well, if you’ve been following the news over the past year or so, you may have seen a number of headlines about new smoking bans in public parks and beaches. And while these ordinances do ban filtered cigars, cigarettes, and cannabis, they explicitly DO NOT prohibit unfiltered cigars.

Can I smoke indoors in public places?

In some places, yes. Miami — like many places — has a smoking ban for most bars and restaurants. However, there is an exception for cigar bars, which allow you to drink and smoke. (No BYOB, though.)

Can I bring cigars back from vacation?

Yes, you absolutely can bring cigars home from vacation. According to TSA’s website, you can pack cigars in a checked bag or a carry-on bag if you decide to fly to and from Miami.

The Best Places to Visit in Miami for Cigar Lovers

However, we’d be remiss if we didn’t include one more special locale that every cigar lover should check out when visiting Miami: El Titan de Bronze.

Not only is El Titan de Bronze a fabulous cigar shop, but it is also a cigar factory that produces incredible cigars on the premises. In fact, they’ve collaborated with brands like La Gloria Cubana, Partagas, Cohiba, Drew Estate, Warped, and Padilla.
