As a follow-up to last year’s Punch Egg Roll, General Cigar Co. is celebrating the Lunar New Year with another limited edition release, the Punch Chop Suey.

The cigar is a 7 x 37 panetela that comes with a one-inch long shaggy foot. The blend features an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, Nicaragua binder and fillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic, with production handled by General Cigar Dominicana in Santiago.

The company is producing 3,650 bundles of 25 cigars, a total run of 91,250 cigars. Each bundle is packed inside a Chinese food takeout box, and each cigar has a band on it that includes one of five fortunes delivered by the brand’s mascot, Mr. Punch. Each cigar is priced at $5.49, or $137.25 for a full bundle.

“We had a lot of fun with Punch Egg Roll last year so we decided to come out with a similar release for 2020,” said Ed Lahmann, senior brand manager of Punch and the creator of Chop Suey, via a press release. “With its panatela size, this cigar delivers a great smoking experience in a format that really lets the tobaccos shine through. And with an SRP of less than $6 per cigar, Chop Suey hits that post-holiday sweet spot for cigar lovers.”
