PCA 2024 - Day 2 đź’¨ Cigar Snob
We hit the ground running on day 2 of PCA 2024 with a stop at Gurkha where we were finally able to see the Year of the Dragon releases in person and caught a sneak peek of the gorgeous humidor for next year’s Year of the Snake.
We hit the Espinosa booth just as Guy Fieri was making what now seems like an annual appearance at the show to promote his Knuckle Sandwich, we loved the new Chef’s Special. Thanks to Jack Toraño for hooking us up with the samples and Protocol’s Juan Cancel for the great shot!
We then hopped over to Oliva Cigars and Cuba Aliados for a quick beer with the Melanio Limitada Figurino. It’s a perfect little perfecto to enjoy before we’re off to the next one.
We spent some time with the always gracious Guillermo Leon of La Aurora, he loaded us up on coffee, rum, and the La Aurora 120th Anniversary.
Rafael Nodal was next at Altadis USA, he handed us a Montecristo Doble Diamante, which was too scarce and too pretty to smoke on the show floor. Can’t wait to fire it up back at HQ.
Next up was our old friend Steve Saka of Dunbarton Tobacco, we smoked the latest Umbagog and Steve loaded us up on booze and more smokes.
We “cleansed the palate” with another beer at Rocky Patel before hopping over to AJ Fernandez, Foundation, Joya de Nicaragua, and La Flor Dominicana where we sipped on the Forward/Slash Rhapsody, a delicious LFD collab spirit coming soon.
We were hosted at dinner by the boys from La Palina at Brezza. Amazing food by chef Nicole Brisson, awesome La Palina smokes, and even better company as Sammy, Clay, and Bill Paley curated a phenomenal guest list.
The rest of the night was a blur as cigar industry giants came in and out of the terrace behind Brezza for a long night of stories, drinks, and incredible memories.
