Macanudo Goes Classic with New Ecuadorian Shade and Sumatra
Macanudo is adding two new cigars to its core lineup with Ecuadorian Shade and Sumatra, a pair of releases built on the same blend but differentiated by wrapper.
It’s a straightforward concept that gives smokers two distinct ways to experience Macanudo — one smoother and more refined, the other richer and more robust.
According to Macanudo, the release is meant to build on the brand’s legacy of smooth, approachable cigars while giving smokers a more tailored experience.
Macanudo Ecuadorian Shade and Sumatra Blend Breakdown
Both cigars are handcrafted in Estelí, Nicaragua, and share a blend of Dominican Piloto Cubano and Nicaraguan fillers, held together by a U.S. Broadleaf binder.
Where they start to separate is at the wrapper.
Ecuadorian Shade brings a smoother, more refined character to the blend, while Sumatra leans richer and more robust, adding a bit more depth and intensity to the overall profile.
The idea is straightforward: same foundation, two different expressions depending on what you’re in the mood for.
“Macanudo has always been about consistency and approachability,” said Matt Wilson, Senior Brand Manager for Macanudo. “With Ecuadorian Shade and Sumatra, we wanted to give smokers a simple way to see how wrapper can shape the experience, while still staying true to what Macanudo represents.”
