Hoyo de Monterrey Adds “Shade” to Its Core Lineup

Hoyo de Monterrey has expanded its lineup with a classic shade offering. Simply called “Hoyo de Monterrey Shade,” the new, regular-production cigar is a Honduran puro wrapped in a Honduran Shade leaf. It is available in three popular sizes and will begin shipping to retailers in June 2025. Hoyo Shade is the third cigar in the new Hoyo de Monterrey “core” lineup, joining Rojo and Oscuro.

Hoyo de Monterrey Shade Blend Information

Hoyo de Monterrey Shade features Honduran binder and filler tobaccos beneath a Honduran Shade wrapper. The cigar was produced at the famous HATSA Factory in Danlí, Honduras. HATSA is renowned for producing some of the finest shade cigars of the past 60 years (including Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur).

Hoyo Shade offers smooth tasting notes of earth and grass. Its recommended drink pairings include coffee, espresso, and pinot noir.

Hoyo de Monterrey Shade Pricing & Availability

Hoyo Shade is a regular-production cigar. It is available in three sizes: a 4.5 X 50 Rothschild, a 6 X 52 Toro, and a 6 X 60 Gigante. All sizes are sold in boxes of ten. The SRP per cigar ranges from $5.99 to $8.49. Hoyo Shade will begin shipping in June 2025.
