New Orleans is in party mode from approximately Thanksgiving to Fat Tuesday. This year added in a bonus with Superbowl LIX at the Superdome. Rao’s, the Harlem restaurant founded in 1896, hosted their 6th annual pre-Superbowl weeklong pop-up dinner party in New Orleans Warehouse District. Civil Pleasures partnered with Rao’s, memorializing the event with limited edition Rao’s x Cvil Pleasures ashtrays, cigar cutters and matches.

Dinner guests enjoyed legendary Rao’s meatballs as well as a nightly DMC performance with Darryl McDaniels. After dinner as guests enjoyed Civil Pleasures CP1 cigars we met DMC and praised the outstanding Mobil Fidelity audiophile vinyl pressing of their classic “Raising Hell”. Other guests at the dinners were Ciara, Russel Wilson, The Chainsmokers, Eli Manning, Reggie Bush, Bill Belichick and Jordan Hudson.

In Manhattan a table at Rao’s is a unicorn, “Love Rao’s, whenever we can get in there, we love it. Not because it’s so NY and I’m a native but it feels like family every single time” - Maxwell Osborne, AnOnlyChild.

New Orleans singular culture, the jazz, seafood, drinking and architecture, make it New York’s blood brother. Civil Pleasures was honored to enjoy cigars during Super Bowl week  with Rao’s and so many others enjoying the rich life that New Orleans provides in graceful abundance.
