CAO Goes Back To The Rainforest For Amazon Basin Daggers
CAO is expanding one of its most talked-about limited editions with the release of Amazon Basin Daggers, a new vitola based on the original Amazon Basin blend. Known for its use of rare Bragança tobacco harvested in the Amazon Rainforest, Amazon Basin has long been a fan-favorite—and now that same blend is available in a compact 4 x 38 format.
Amazon Basin Daggers Blend Breakdown
Daggers feature a Bragança tobacco, organically grown in a remote region of the Amazon and harvested just once every three years. After aging using traditional fermentation methods, the tobacco is transported out of the rainforest by canoe before being blended at CAO’s factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. The blend is finished with an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder and additional fillers from Colombia and the Dominican Republic.
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Sumatra
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Brazilian Bragança, Colombian, Dominican
"Amazon Basin fans are some of the most passionate in the cigar world," said Cory Beardsley, brand manager for CAO. "We’ve seen how quickly the original sells out and heard the same question every year: when are we getting more? Daggers are our answer to that. It’s the same blend, same rainforest story, now available in a new format.”
Amazon Basin Daggers Pricing and Availability
Amazon Basin Daggers are handcrafted at STG Estelí and come in five-count packs. As with the original, this release is a very limited offering. The suggested retail price (SRP) is $8.99 per cigar.
