CAO Amazon Basin Returns
CAO Amazon Basin is back — again! The popular offering is returning to shelves for a limited time starting this January (2024). Amazon Basin features a rare type of Brazilian tobacco known as Bragança. Grown on unspoiled tropical land in the Amazon Rainforest, Bragança is harvested only during a small window of time every three years. Amazon Basin first hit the market in 2014.
CAO Amazon Basin Blend Breakdown
In addition to the Bragança tobacco, Amazon Basin contains filler tobaccos from Colombia and the Dominican Republic. It has a Nicaraguan binder and an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper. It is a medium-to-full-bodied smoke with rich tasting notes of earth and fruit. This complex and unique blend gives CAO Amazon Basin an uncommon but striking smoking experience.
In an earlier press release, Ed Lahmann, senior brand manager said, “When we launched Amazon Basin a decade ago, we debuted Amazonian tobacco to the world and created a smoking experience that was completely different from anything on the market. We’re pleased to release the special blend again this year. And while we are not disclosing production figures, the number of boxes we’re releasing this year is down from 2022 because of the scarcity of the tobacco and the care it requires. My advice to CAO fans is if you see Amazon Basin, be sure to get your hands on it.”
Suggested drink pairings for Amazon Basin include pinot noir and single-malt Scotch.
CAO Amazon Basin Product Information & Availability
Though CAO Amazon Basin has returned several times since it was first introduced, it remains a limited-edition product. A limited supply of boxes have been made available for purchase.
Boxes include eighteen cigars. CAO Amazon Basin is available in only one size: a classic 6X52 Toro. Interestingly, it does not have a typical paper band, but rather, several strands of tobacco wrapped around the rest of the cigar in place of a band.

(4 months ago)It is great this is coming back again. Unfortunately, unless you are set up for notifications and are ready at a moments notice, us guys in Southeast Idaho usually do not get a chance to purchase. ( There isn't many cigar shops, true cigar shops that is)
