New humidor

Hey guys quick question I bought a plastic travel humidor but I have a quick question anything I should do before I put my cigars in I feel that the padding has a strong smell and will counter the cigar taste and the sponge at the top I'm supposed to soak that and let sit for a while to drain and dry and put back in?

    If I could make a suggestion. Every once in a while open the lid and let them breathe

    Let it dry overnight and try to get a piece of Spanish cedar. One from a cigar box will be great.

      After it completely dries, with a bóveda pack.

    Let it air out until any Oder is minimal, then use it
