Are those expensive cigars really worth it

Smoked: Espinosa Laranja

Hey guys I just started smoking about 7 months ago and have tried many different cigars. I really like the Oliva Reserve and the V series MadurO. Can a Davidoff be that much better? Hesitant to try because of the Price. Is it really that much better. I’ve also had some Padrons that are exceptional.

The Espinosa Laranja is a good cigar. In my humble opinion, everyone should smoke a Davidoff and an Atabey at least once in their cigar smoking life. Is Davidoff better? Let's say it is very good and includes a unique flavor profile. Some people like the uniqueness. Others hate it. You have to try one to find out which camp you choose. But it is quite an experience. Try the "R" for starters.

Everyone should try a Davidoff at least once in their life. Smoked the Special "R" a few months ago. And the Churchill Late Hour remains on my bucket list. Life is an adventure. Enjoy the journey.

Cigars are an adventure. Enjoy the journey. Keep trying different brands, series, wrappers. Davidoff is a breed apart. Smoked a Special R recently and would put that in the top 10 of the best cigars I've smoked so far this year. But that list also includes a My Father The Judge, Tatuaje Miami Reserve, Tatuaje 20012 Cojonu Sumatra, an Oliva V Anniversary release, Dunbarton Sobremesa Brulee, H Upmann The Banker, et al. I like Southern Draw 300 Hands maduro. It's a $3.50 find - smokes like an $8 stick. Score! Keep tryng different cigars. You'll find some box worthy favorites, but you'll also find some gems you may have never guessed were that good.

I think taste is personal. And just like there is many great expensive cigars, there are some not worth the money. The enjoyment for me is finding a $5 , $10 - $20 cigar that smokes like a $30 to $60 dollar cigar that's where I find my pleasure. Now for me Davidoff is supreme above all. But that's just me. Like I said taste is personal. Keep on smoking and find what you like. Thanks for this question. Don't be afraid to ask questions especially when in a cigar shop. Cheers my friend!

They are different. I know people that would relish a Swisher Sweet and think an Oliva unpalatable. You need to keep trying different smokes and remember that a cigar you had with a bourbon and you didn’t care for might be the best you ever had with a good rum. Or that cigar you had while watching the news was ok but how great it was on the deck listening to Miles Davis. Be patient, try a lot of different cigars and pair them differently. By the way, Thompson cigars has a great 5-pack deal.

It’s really just a matter of taste. What works for you may not work for someone else. I find that Davidoff Colorado Claro and the Davidoff Nicaraguan to be exceptional spokes. Are they worth the money? I think so. But I certainly can’t afford them as like an everyday smoke.
