Espinosa Murcielago Capa Negra

Smoked: Espinosa Murcielago Capa Negra

Espinosa Murcielago Capa Negra is a medium-full bodied and strength box-pressed Nicaraguan beauty with a Mexican San Andres wrapper – always a treat in my book.

Burnt oak, earth, leather, pepper, bread, mixed nuts, dark roast coffee, dark chocolate sweetness, some licorice and a touch of spice. The flavors blend together very smoothly – nice balance and complexity. The retrohale is a bit harsh – charred wood and pepper. knuckle

Solid construction: Perfect draw, somewhat even burn line requiring only a couple of minor touchups, thick smoke output, held a firm ash for most of the smoke.

Murcielago is Spanish for bat. Perhaps I should have saved my baseball metaphor in the H Upmann Banker review for this cigar. The Espinosa Murcielago Capa Negra is a solid choice in a medium-full bodied cigar. Interesting how many blenders are finding uses for the San Andres wrapper.
