Charter Oak Connecticut uses Nicaraguan filler, a Sumatran binder and is covered in a blond Ecuador Connecticut wrapper with ever so slight veinage.
Cedar, pepper, mossy earth, leather, grass, milk chocolate, cream, and hints of doughy bread. There is some sweetness in there I’m not able to identify.
Very good construction for a budget stick – good open draw, even burn line, solid smoke production, white grey ash the held quite well to over an inch and tapped off on command.
I have Charter Oak in limited rotation. It is like the 12th man on a basketball squad. Charter Oak Connecticut is in my humidor, but it rarely gets a nod. Just in the mood this rainy morning, paired it with morning coffee. Hadn’t smoked one in awhile. It’s a tad better than average. Now if you want to factor in the price point, it climbs a notch.
