Caldwell Lost & Found Paradise Lost Limited Edition Lancero

Smoked: Caldwell Lost & Found Paradise Lost Limited Edition Lancero

Caldwell Lost & Found Paradise Lost Limited Edition Lancero is a 7.25 X 40 using Nicaraguan and Dominican filler, a Sumatran binder and a wrapper of Mexican San Andres Maduro. The cigar band is a hologram version of the original band.

This Limited Edition maduro is a medium bodied stick that starts out with cedar, butter, pepper, cashews, coffee, cocoa, cream, and minimal notes of baking spice leaning on nutmeg. The pepper picks up a bit during the second third and the cedar transitions into more oakiness. The flavors are similar to the original Paradise Lost, but much more intense and complex. The retrohale is wood, pepper and a touch of cocoa.

Excellent draw and smoke production, surprisingly even burn line for a lancero, and grey ash that held fairly well.

Compared to the original Paradise Lost, this San Andres Maduro Lancero is a much better version of the cigar. Caldwell hails it as an “enhanced blend.” Whatever he did to it I am impressed.

Glad to see Lanceros making a comeback. The wrapper to filler ratio makes a. Good experience.

Lanceros were a topic of discussion at our Thursday night cigar gang meetup last night. A newbie was asking about Lanceros and our Lancero PhD explained the basic geometry of wrapper to filler and from where the flavor hides. If you can find them, go Lancero every time.
