Caldwell Lost & Found Holy Braille

Smoked: Caldwell Lost & Found Holy Braille

Another Caldwell Lost & Found to explore. This time it’s the Holy Braille Robusto. So did Caldwell find the Holy Bale or did he blindly stumble into some lost, aged tobacco left behind in a Dominican tobacco flea market. Let’s find out.

The wrapper is toothy with a couple of small veins. The construction is excellent. Nice draw. Consistently even burn line. Only needed a couple of touch ups.

Flavor profile: Spice, cedar, nutty, floral, leather, mineral like chalk and slate, vegetal notes (leaning grassy), slightly salty, you can taste the aging in the tobacco Reminds me of the flavors in another Lost & Found – One Night Stand. There was no transition. The flavors remained consistent through the entire smoke. But there’s more than enough going on flavor wise to keep it enjoyable.

The retrohale was somewhat mild. It was not pepper dominant, although something in there was a bit abrasive. The strength remained medium until the final third when it kicked up a bit.

I’m tempted to rate it a meh, but that wouldn’t be accurate. Although the stick didn’t thrill, it did keep me intrigued. As with many of the Caldwell Lost & Found cigars, I kept trying to pinpoint words to describe the often unusual flavors. I smoked it to the nub so I did enjoy it. Lost & Founds are always an adventure. Even though the Holy Braille didn’t exactly dazzle, it was a pleasant experience.

Holy Braille. Maybe Caldwell should offer it in a different format – Blessed Cigars on Tape.
