Black Label Trading Company Lawless

Smoked: Black Label Trading Company Lawless

Black Label Trading Company Lawless Robusto is made of Nicaraguan filler and a Nicaraguan binder and covered in a toothy oily Ecuadoran Habano Rosado chocolate brown wrapper. There are some visible seams and veins. The white on black bovine with horns skull band encircled in barbed wire, of course, has gothic lettering. The footer proclaims in gothic script “Lawless.”

Wood, earthy, peppery start and then retreat to make room for secondary flavors of cocoa, caramel, dark roast coffee, raisins, hazelnuts, and hints of baking spice. That may include a dash of clove or ginger – some spice in that category. Stick to the cigar script, Bear. I fear I’m sounding like Guy Fieri meets Martha Stewart with this spice description. Let’s leave it at there is a backdrop of interesting spice in the profile. Not being a cook or baker, I admit to having minimal skill at identifying specific spieces.

The retrohale is super peppery. That’s like 4 cigars in a week. Either my sinuses are acting up or I’m just hitting a run of sticks with intense pepper on the retro. The pepper also accelerated in the flavor profile during the second third. The hazelnuts transform into a cashew taste and the wood eventually unmasks its generic notes to reveal itself as cedar – a stunt first attempted by Penn Jilette. To this day, Teller remains silent on the subject. BLTC Lawless is medium-full bodied and strength with a multitude of flavors that are balanced with plenty of complexity. This is a damn fine cigar.

Open draw that could have used a bit more resistance – but no complaints, dead even burn line start to finish, and light grey ash that held tight. The smoke output on this thing has to violate several EPA regulations. I like it. Maybe with the new EPA deregulation regiment cigars can again legally produce generous volumes of smoke.

I have yet to smoke a Black Label Trading Company cigar I didn’t like. Chalk up another 5 on the Cigar World scoreboard for Lawless.

I tried the same cigar and I really liked it, I remember it’s multiple flavors but I like peppery flavor the most
