Ozgener Family Maracana Robusto

Smoked: Ozgener Family Maracana Robusto

Ozgener Family Maracana Robusto is a box pressed 5 x 52 using Honduran and Nicaraguan filler and covered in a Brazilian Arapiraca wrapper.

The band is gold on green with the Oz Family crest and the name “Maracana” at the bottom. It also sports a solid green footer.

Oak, milk chocolate, nuts, earthy leather, spice – some pepper, more nutmeg with occasional hints of cedar, tart fruit, vanilla and creamy caramel. I’m also tasting something vegetal like mushrooms with hints of mint or menthol. Combined with the notes of earth and leather you get a forest floor, musty mix to the flavor. This bad boy is packed with quite an array of flavors. It’s a medium to full bodied stick and a very interesting, enjoyable, complex, balanced flavor profile. The Honduran and Nicaraguan tobaccos play nicely together with the Brazilian wrapper.

Open draw, dead even burn line, abundant smoke, and dark and light grey ash that held on like Gorilla Glue.

This is one fine cigar. Kudos to the Oz Family for producing a gem. It scores a 5 across the board. Even the East German judge gives it a 5 – if you’re old enough to grasp the analogy.

The Castle & Key bourbon was a nice pairing but nothing special. In the future, I'll pair this cigar with a Highland single malt scotch.
