They smoked the leaves for this cigar, and it results in excellent notes of charred oak, scotch-like peatiness, and heavily toasted coffee. This cigar pairs best with a good scotch or whiskey, my favorite is the Johnie Walker Black Ruby with this specific cigar. The two blend great. A good alternative is the Johnie Walker XR 21. I would not use a very heavily peated scotch as it can over power the cigar taste.
