The Best “Dark and Spooky” Cigars for Halloween
When you love cigars as much as we do, every occasion seems like a great time to have a cigar. But Halloween is a truly fantastic night for chilling on the porch with a premium cigar after the trick-or-treaters have gone home. Don’t just take our word for it; many brands have unveiled special Halloween-themed cigars over the years. These are a few of our favorites.
Tatuaje Jason Redux (Monster Series)
Since 2008, Tatuaje has released a special horror-themed cigar for Halloween. Previous incarnations of the beloved Monster Series include The Drac, The Creature, and Frank. This year’s (2026) limited-edition cigar is called Jason Redux, and it’s a Connecticut Broadleaf-wrapped behemoth of a cigar clocking in at 7.5 X 52 (slightly bigger than a Churchill). While we definitely recommend trying the Jason Redux, any of the Monster Series smokes are ideal for a chilly October night.
Alec Bradley Filthy Ghooligan
Fans of the Alec Bradley Filthy Hooligan (the annual St. Patrick’s Day release) will immediately recognize its spooky cousin, Filthy Ghooligan. Crafted with a trademark barber-pole wrapper including US Broadleaf and Ecuadorian Habano tobacco, this classic dark cigar boasts warm and inviting notes of cocoa, pepper, and earth in its flavor profile.
Black Label Trading Co. Coffin Nails
While many cigar brands produce limited-edition products for Halloween, Black Label Trading Co. makes “scary” cigars all the time. Our pick for this Halloween — Coffin Nails — is particularly ideal for enjoying while on a time crunch. Available only in a petit corona size, these small but mighty Ecuadorian-Maduro-wrapped cigars are perfect for a quick smoke. Expect lots of earth, leather, cedar, and pepper from Coffin Nails.

Deadwood Tobacco Co. Sweet Jane
Infused cigars aren’t for everyone, but if you’re looking for something new, then we recommend checking out Sweet Jane from Drew Estate’s Deadwood Tobacco line. Come for the Día-de-los Muertos-inspired band, and stick around for the surprisingly nuanced and mellow flavor profile of coffee, cedar, and chocolate.

Punch Diablo
Bold, spicy, and blended by AJ Fernandez, Punch Diablo is a devilish treat on any day, but an especially good choice for Halloween. Oh, and did we mention that it earned a 93 rating from Cigar Aficionado? Add this to your humidor and thank us later.
