When it comes to keeping your premium cigars fresh, there’s a few certain things that any cigar smoker needs. A great humidor is a definite, but there’s one little accessory that makes a huge difference in ensuring proper humidity levels are met inside your humi.

Those are Boveda packs. But, there are some common misconceptions as to how to properly use Boveda to season and keep your humidor maintained. And that’s why the Cigar World team has put together the latest blog for some foolproof steps on how to use Boveda packs to season and keep your humidor maintained.

What are Boveda packs?

Boveda humidity packs provide some of the cleanest and most purified humidity of all other premium cigar products available on the market today. Each Boveda pack consists of a specially prepared saturated solution of pure water and natural salts, and are designed to keep the humidity at a consistent level in your humidor to ensure your premium cigars stay fresh.

They’re incredibly easy to use. But, follow the steps below to make sure you’re using Boveda packs correctly.

How to use Boveda Packs: Step one.

Place your Boveda pack in your humidor right on top of your cigars, or if you want to take it to the next level, you can buy and use a Boveda Holder from their website here.

If your Boveda pack is wrapped in a clear piece of cellophane wrapping, remove that first before putting the Boveda pack in your humidor.

Do keep in mind, Boveda packs are FDA approved so there’s no harm in them touching your cigars.

How to use Boveda Packs: Step two.

The Boveda pack will immediately begin working to stabilize the humidity levels in your humidor.

How to use Boveda Packs: Step three.

That’s it. Know with confidence that your collection is protected and your humidity levels will be on point so you can enjoy the perfect smoke, every time.

Keep in mind…

If your Boveda pack is completely dry, it will turn into a solid piece inside the packet. At that point, you’ll want to replace them.

If you’re facing dry climates or a humidor with an imperfect seal, it’s perfectly fine to add more than the minimum amount of Boveda humidity control packs.

If your Boveda packs are being depleted quickly (under 2 months) then you may want to verify that your humi doesn’t need to be re-seasoned, or you may want to add more Boveda packs to ensure your cigars stay fresh.

When the packs get depleted you can bring them back to new by putting them in some distilled water in a sealed plastic bag. Wait 3 days and they will absorb water and be as good as new.
