Diesel Whiskey Row and Mint Julep
The first Saturday in May brings us the “most exciting two minutes in sports,” and also a great excuse to whip up tasty mint juleps. Few cigars pair better with this classic drink than the original Diesel Whiskey Row. While there have been numerous additions to the Whiskey Row line over the years, we still appreciate the bold character that tobacco aged in Rabbit Hole bourbon barrels brings to this cigar.
H. Upmann The Banker and Negroni
The negroni is a timeless cocktail that dates back to the golden age of mixology. (It was invented in 1919.) As such, it feels only right to pair it with a cigar from one of the most storied brands in the industry: H. Upmann. We’re big fans of the smooth and spicy H. Upmann The Banker, in particular.
Cohiba Riviera and Paloma
Mexico’s favorite cocktail begs to be paired with a cigar with a flavorful Mexican San Andrés wrapper. So there’s no better choice than the first Cohiba to feature a San Andrés wrapper, Riviera. Riviera is a fine example of the quality tobaccos Cohiba has to offer, and its dark chocolatey flavor profile pairs beautifully with the vibrant citrus notes from a paloma.
Plasencia Alma Fuerte and Brandy Alexander
For those with a sweet tooth, you can’t go wrong with a smooth and sweet cigar and a Brandy Alexander. (For the uninitiated, a Brandy Alexander includes brandy, creme de cacao, heavy cream, and occasionally ice cream.) Plasencia’s Alma Fuerte brings plenty of oaky and molasses notes to the party thanks to its lush Nicaraguan blend. And it goes great with a dessert cocktail like this.
Macanudo Inspirado Orange & Golf Drinks
Hitting the links this spring? Then be sure to bring along a few Macanudos! Macanudo is famous for approachable and delicious cigars, and Inspirado Orange in particular is a versatile and acclaimed option. We like it with light beers, seltzers, and any other beverage you’re knocking back on the course.
