Great speakers, a minimalist desk mat, a sleek magnetic charger. These are just a few unspoken desktop accessories that take any desk space over the top. However, for us cigar smokers, one of the most important desktop accessories is the desktop humidor. That way you can be sure your favorite cigars are always within arms reach, and always fresh.

Our latest blog answers some common questions around desktop humidors and explores ten of the best rated and most talked about desktop humidors that you can buy right now.

How do desktop humidors work?

The best way to keep your cigars fresh is to use a humidor. Humidors are airtight containers that help keep cigars at the proper temperature and humidity levels. The size of your cigar collection will dictate how many humidors you need.

There are countless different sizes and variations of desktop humidors, but normally they’ll store at least 25 cigars and could house up to 100 cigars depending on the height of the humidor.

When putting your cigars in a desktop humidor, be sure to organize them based on blend. If they aren’t separated, the flavors could start to mingle. If you want your cigars to keep their true aroma and flavor, put cedar dividers in your humidor.

How long will cigars last in a desktop humidor?

The lifespan of your cigars will be dependent on how you set up the humidor. It is essential to season your humidor, calibrate the hygrometer, and correctly set the humidity levels. If done correctly, your cigars could last up to five years. If done incorrectly, you run the risk of causing your cigars to deteriorate before you can use them.

I now have 3 desktop humidors. (When I first got back into seriously enjoying cigars again after a hiatus of almost 25 years [ ! ], I thought one would be enough -- NOT! -- LOL) One (#1) is dedicated to my favorite cigar brand in robusto vitola, one (#2) is dedicated to 2 of my other favorite brands, also robustos, and the third is for miscellaneous cigar brands in various vitolas. The the #4 cigars in my regular rotation in addition to those in #1 and #2 humidors, are in tubos, so no need for being in a humidor. Boveda humidification in all 3 humidors works excellently.

I bought my first humidor this year. Not real happy with it, I might try one of these. Prices look good.

These are great examples of good humidors. The prices are good as well depending on the size of your inventory. I presently have several desk tops at 50 each and am looking for for the right elegant humidor to store more box purchases of my favor blenders. Cheers all
