With growing regions that range from Mata Fina to the edge of the Amazon Rainforest, Brazilian tobacco is known for its dark appearance, medium strength, and smooth, rich flavor.
Brazilian Mata Fina is the most popular variety of Brazilian tobacco. It is most often sun grown and stalk cut — meaning that it is typically rich, sweet, and flavorful. Often, Brazilian wrappers make excellent Maduros and Oscuros. Flavors you can expect to find in cigars with a heavy Brazilian influence are cocoa, earth, chocolate, and leather.
While Brazilian tobacco has become more popular in the past few decades, tobacco production in Brazil is minimal, meaning that there are very few “Brazilian cigars,” per se.
