Sharp, hot, and earthy, white pepper is a fairly common and noticeable cigar tasting note. Cigars with a lot of white pepper flavor cues tend to possess other spicy notes like cumin, black pepper, or paprika. “Spice bomb” cigars usually have Habano or Maduro wrappers, but they’re unlikely to be on the lighter or creamier side.
Conversely, a Claro cigar may still contain hints of white pepper or spice in general. These smoking experiences are typically defined by cream or earth, complemented with the occasional appearance of white pepper.
