Yeah, It’s Machine-Made. Yeah, I Liked It.

Factory Throwouts No. 59 Sweet

Size: 6.25 x 45 (Lonsdale)

Wrapper: Ecuadorian Sungrown

Binder/Filler: Mixed (Dominican)

Strength: Mild to Medium

Cap: Sweetened

This cigar made me rethink the hate for machine-mades. I wasn’t expecting much. Just something to pass the time with a Mountain Dew Zero in hand. What I got was a genuinely enjoyable smoke.

The sweet cap kicks things off. It’s noticeable, but not artificial or syrupy. Just a light sweetness that eases you in. After that fades, the flavor settles into something mellow and smooth. Cream, a little cedar, maybe some faint nuttiness if you’re paying attention. No heavy spice, no crazy transitions, but nothing bitter or offensive either.

The draw was great. The burn was near perfect. I didn’t have to touch it up or fight with it once. That alone puts it ahead of a lot of cigars that cost twice as much.

Paired with Mountain Dew Zero, the combo worked better than expected. The sweetness in the soda matched the cap early on, then the lemon-lime edge gave just enough bite to complement the smoke without overpowering it.

It’s not a complex cigar, but it’s consistent, easygoing, and enjoyable from start to finish.

Enjoyment: 8/10

Complexity: 3/10

Burn and Draw: 9/10

Value: 10/10

Final Rating: 86

This isn’t a premium cigar. But for what it is, it punches way above its weight. Great draw, near-perfect burn, mellow flavor, and a sweet cap that actually works. At sub-three bucks, it’s hard to complain. It’s a reliable, no-pressure smoke that delivers simple enjoyment without trying too hard.

I’ll keep some around.
