Smoked: Warped Eagles Descent Toro Especial

Smoked at: West Chester, Ohio

Warped Eagles Descent Toro Especial is a medium-full bodied and strength Nicraguan Corojo-Criollo stick cloaked in a Corojo wrapper. Well, the strength is more in the medium range until the final third when it goes full tilt strength.

The dominant flavors are charred wood and dark roast coffee. There is spice, pepper, leather and an earthy forest floor note – like moist, musty vegetation, a touch of mineral and an Animal Crackers note here and there. The flavors are balanced, but there is a lack of complexity and virtually no transitions.

The smoke production was more than generous. The burn line was sharp and even. The ash needed some Gorilla glue. It was falling off in flaky chunks and too frequently. This was a fast burning cigar. It seemed like a half inch of the cigar burned with each puff. I’m exaggerating, but it did finish fast.

I could nit-pick. No Oh Wow moments, but overall this is a good cigar. Warped doesn’t disappoint.
