The Maduro That Whispered Black Cherry

Cigar Reviewed: Padron Family Reserve No. 45 Maduro

Smoked at: Murray KY

This cigar opened exactly where I hoped a Padrón Maduro would—dark cocoa and rich black coffee, deep and smooth without getting harsh. As it settled in, the spice started to show itself, but instead of the usual black or white pepper, it reminded me more of warm nutmeg.

Then came the surprise: a very subtle black cherry note. It never took over the cigar, but every now and then it peeked through the darker coffee and cocoa flavors and gave the profile just a little extra depth.

Overall, this felt like a more refined step up from the Padrón 3000 Maduro. Rich, balanced, flavorful, and never overly spicy. It didn’t quite reach that rare five-star territory for me, but it came close enough that I’d happily keep a few in the humidor.
