Cigar Reviewed: Tabanero Maceda Connecticut
While on vacation in Tampa, I would have been remiss to not stop into Ybor City (IYKYK). As a first time visitor, I could not believe how wild and fun the area was. That’s a story for another time, though. As I walked the streets, a little lounge caught my eye - Tabanero.
Tabanero is not *just *a lounge, they have a full bar, shop and their own cigars. Since I was just in for a visit, I grabbed a tee shirt and asked the gentleman what the top three cigars there were. This was one of his selections.
The beautiful wrapper, smell and cold draw reel you in, making the impatience to light even stronger. A little cream, leather and dash of pepper to kickstart the mood.
The first puffs are strong and flavorful, really bringing those cold draw flavors to the forefront. As the smoke goes on, the creamy sweetness is present but not as pronounced as expected. This really carries a medium (mild-medium depending on the stage of smoke) strength.
No relights, great burn and strong ash.
I thoroughly enjoyed my delve into Tabanero cigars and was surprised to have enjoyed it so much. I’d put this up to any mainstream cigar of the like as a true competitor. These can be ordered online direct from Tampa, so no need to take a trip, but if you do, it’s worth a stop in!
