Solid as They Come – Perdomo’s Maduro Done Right

Cigar Reviewed: Perdomo Reserve 10th Anniversary Maduro

Smoked at: Long Beach, MS

This one came in with a rich, oily wrapper that promised flavor—and it delivered. From the first draw, there was dark cocoa, espresso, and a natural sweetness that hit right down the middle. No gimmicks. Just a well-aged maduro doing exactly what it’s supposed to do. Smoke output was great, and the draw was open and smooth without ever burning hot.

Midway through, it mellowed just enough to show off some nuttiness and earth, with the cocoa note holding strong in the background. I got a little bit of oak or cedar creeping in as well—just enough to keep things balanced. No harshness, no bitterness. Construction was spot on, and the burn never needed attention. It stayed clean, cool, and consistent from start to finish.

The final third ramped the body a bit, but never turned sharp. That spice and sweetness held hands the whole way, and even as the cocoa faded, the smoke kept its richness. For a full-ish cigar, it didn’t wear me out—and that says a lot. It’s a smoke I’d absolutely come back to, just not one I’d reach for every time.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Not because it missed the mark—just because a great cigar is something special. This one? It’s solid, dependable, and rich with flavor. Definitely earns its place in the humidor.
