Cigar Reviewed: Macanudo Vintage Maduro 1997

Straight cut with guillotine and lost the entire cap. Cold draw was very tight, but didn't want to cut further without any cap. Thought it would loosen up as it burned, but it never did. Couldn't get a good handle on the flavors, since I was drawing hard 2-3 every time. After hour and a half, I gave it up at the halfway point of a toro. I have never used a draw tool and didn't think I should have to on a $18 cigar. I have liked most other Macanudos I have tried, though I do seem to lose the cap on all maduros. I had saved this in my humidor for 5 months, looking forward to a night to enjoy it — but sadly, I did not. I'd like to hear from others if you had a better (or similar) experience. I don't think these are made any more, so I'll never know if I had one bad one.
