Cigar Reviewed: E.P. Carrillo Pledge Prequel Robusto

Smoked at: Carolinas

I drive a lot, and I rely on a good cigar and great coffee to relieve the monotony of the road and the frustration of traffic. Today I had a Latte in a travel mug and decided to treat myself to this cigar that was rated 98 by Cigar Aficionado. I decided to use a punch, and the cold draw was just pure delicious tobacco. The cigar lit up easily with an easy draw and lots of creamy smoke. Once lit, I got a very spicy, peppery flavor. Occasional sweet notes were accompanied by a lovely licorice flavor. As the smoke progressed, notes dark chocolate and dark roasted coffee beans developed. This is a flawlessly constructed 5 x 50 cigar that burned evenly for nearly an hour long smoke. Truly a memorable smoke.
