Had to reach for one of my Olmec sticks tonight it’s always a solid, good-quality smoke. I’ve had this one before and the foundation blend never disappoints. This time I didn’t pair it with my usual bourbon or Manhattan-style drink, which honestly would’ve brought out those richer chocolate and wood tones a little better.
Instead, I ended up having it with an energy drink, and surprisingly, it wasn’t bad at all. It gave a lighter, fizzy contrast that actually made the pepper and earthy spice pop a bit more.
The draw stayed smooth, burn line was sharp, and it carried that familiar cocoa, wood, and dark spice combo that’s classic Olmec. Definitely a strong “gold standard” cigar full flavor, balanced kick, and reliable construction from start to finish.
Next time, though, I’m going back to my bourbon pairing it just fits the profile better.
