Cigar Reviewed: Oliva Serie V Melanio

My initial impression of this box-pressed beauty was “Wow!”. It is an all around gorgeous cigar with very elegant bands. The aroma off of the unlit cigar is great…strong, fresh tobacco smell. I cut it with a v-cut and lit up! After the first draw, the thing I noticed first was how light the draw was…no resistance whatsoever. I typically like a bit tighter of a draw, but that wasn’t going to stop my from smoking this stick all the way through. From the first few draws I was immediately hit with a ton of flavorful smoke. I was picking up toasty notes that had sort of a nutty aftertaste. The cigar stayed consistent throughout and the burn was perfect all the way through, leaving me with a long ash. The ash didn’t break off until we were already past the halfway mark. Toward the end of the cigar I was noticing that it started to spice up a bit, which was the perfect change in flavor / sensation to keep it interesting. All in all, this was a beautiful and delicious stick that I will be buying more boxes of in the future.
