Cigar Reviewed: Oliva Serie V Melanio Edición Año 2025
Smoked at: st charles
I had the chance to try the new Oliva Serie V Melanio Edición Año 2025 yesterday at the Lit Bar in Chesterfield, and it easily became one of those cigars that remind you why you keep coming back to Oliva in the first place. I’ve always enjoyed the consistency of their blends, but this one stood out right away. The draw, burn, and construction were near perfect. The tones came through smooth and rich, layered with that signature Melanio depth that mixes subtle spice, wood, and a touch of sweetness.
I paired it with a Black Manhattan, which really brought out darker notes like cocoa and espresso. Midway through the smoke, a few friends showed up with some leftover pizza from an event they’d had earlier in the day, so I paused the cigar to grab a few slices. When I went back to it, it picked right back up without missing a beat, still smooth, flavorful, and burning perfectly.
What impressed me most was how well it retained its flavor throughout. There was no bitterness, no harsh turn near the end, just a steady, refined profile that kept me locked in the whole time. Honestly, if I weren’t already working through a few other cigars I plan to review, I’d have bought a box on the spot. It’s one of those smokes that makes you start thinking maybe it’s time for another humidor because this one deserves a dedicated spot.
P.S. had to remove the bottom band for the burn that reflects it's a 2025.
