Cigar Reviewed: La Gloria Cubana Medio Tiempo Robusto

Smoked at: Sunrise Beach, MO

Reading about this cigar before smoking it may have been a bad idea, but I wanted to do some research first. The leaf being used is fairly unusual and not used by a lot of cigar makers today. After smoking the La Gloria Cubana Medio Tiempo, I can see why. Straight out of the gate I got the boldness of the cigar. It didn't warm up to me at all it just slapped me in the face and get on going. So if you are into bold flavor heavy in pepper and looking for something more than you are getting from your Ligero, then you should try this cigar. I was well constructed and stayed lit and even throughout the 60 min it took to smoke. This cigar definitely has stronger and more intense flavors and aromas than most Ligero's, but was to intense for my enjoyment. I like to see cigar manufacturers trying new things, but using this rarely used leaf seems like a novelty that is being used to evaluate how intense people want to go with their smokes.
