Nice Balance

Cigar Reviewed: My Father La Gran Oferta

Smoked at: San Antoni, TX

I lit this one up today, and right from the first few puffs, it reminded me why I enjoy My Father cigars so much. The La Gran Oferta has that classic Pepín García spice, but it’s not overwhelming—just enough to wake up your palate.

The wrapper looks great in person: dark, a little oily, and really well constructed. The ash in my photo held on strong, which is pretty normal for this line. Burn was clean and steady the whole time, no touch-ups needed.

Flavor-wise, it starts off with a mix of pepper, cocoa, and earthy notes, and as it burns down, it gets smoother with a little sweetness coming through almost like a faint espresso or dark chocolate vibe. Medium-to-full body overall, but super balanced.

What I like about this cigar is that it feels rich without being too heavy. It’s the kind of stick you can really kick back with for a solid hour and enjoy without overthinking it. Great bang for the buck, too—usually around 8–10 bucks depending on where you buy it.

If you like cigars that have a nice mix of flavor, spice, and quality construction, La Gran Oferta is definitely worth keeping in the rotation. Perfect with a coffee or an evening bourbon.
