Cigar Reviewed: CAO Flathead 660
Smoked at: Missouri
Last night was mystery movie night I had no idea what film was coming on, and it turned out to be The Dead of Winter. To go along with it, I grabbed a CAO Flathead 660 as my smoke of the night.
First Thoughts: The cigar fired up strong. Definitely bolder than I expected and probably one I should have paired with a full stomach about halfway in I felt it in my gut. I don’t usually get queasy from a cigar, but this one hit harder than I planned.
Flavor Profile: Bold dark chocolate, espresso, and pepper right from the start. Rounded out with some molasses sweetness and a woody/earthy backbone. Heavy, full-bodied, but tasty.
Burn & Construction: Excellent. Solid ash, slow burn, even all the way through. I’d estimate around 45 minutes to an hour of smoke time. Only needed a quick touch-up here and there, which is impressive for a 60 ring gauge.
Overall: This was a powerhouse cigar strong, bold, and built like a tank. It lined up perfectly with the suspense and heaviness of the movie. I’ll revisit it again, but next time with some food beforehand. Glad I finally got to try it.
