I had the opportunity to participate in the Cigar World Testing Lab and started with the Macanudo Ecuadorian Shade. I paired it with a fresh cup of black coffee, and it was an excellent combination.

Right from the first draw, I picked up a smooth, creamy profile with subtle honey sweetness. The coffee really complemented those flavors, making the creaminess stand out even more. The draw was effortless, the burn stayed consistent, and the smoke remained mellow without becoming boring.

As a mellow-to-medium-bodied cigar, it's one I'd recommend for a morning smoke or anytime you're looking for something relaxing and refined. It's approachable for newer smokers while still offering enough flavor for seasoned enthusiasts.

This is only the first half of the Cigar World Testing Lab. I'll be smoking the Macanudo Sumatra later this week and comparing the two side-by-side to see how the flavor profiles differ.
